Trying to narrow down what I really like at Anthropologie is hard. I really love their clothes but I never buy anything there that’s not on sale. Their prices are usually way over my budget but I do tend to buy gifts for friends there - pretty dish towels, say, or a simple necklace. Plus, they have lovely gift wrap.
I always look forward to their sales (and so does everyone else because the store in downtown Austin is usually packed when you can snag an Anthropologie dress for under $100.) I make a beeline for the back of the store where they house all the sale stuff, including housewares, and proceed to SHOP. I’ve found some beautiful pieces in that back room, most of them I still wear.
Looking at their website, I’m always overwhelmed by all the gorgeous pieces and have a hard time narrowing my favorites down to a manageable number. For spring, I gave it a shot and here’s what I came up with. A few caveats: these selections are purely subjective and I tried to find things that I thought would appeal to women 50 and older. I skipped all the mini dresses and midriff-bearing tops, all the body-hugging numbers and anything overly bohemian (that’s not my style.) Hope you see some things you love!
For those of you that live where it’s still freezing out, this sweater’s for you. I love the pop of color and hopefully, it will make you just a little happier when you put it on.
I’m a sneaker gal, when I’m not wearing sandals, which is most of time in Austin. I also like a colorful sneaker like this one since I tend to wear only neutrals. These would look great with a cotton floral midi dress or a crisp blazer, tees, and wide-leg denim.
I like having a couple of versatile jackets on hand for those days when I need an extra layer. This jacket is casual yet chic, a cross between a cardigan and a jacket. And I like that it’s not a blazer. So much more comfortable for everyday wear.
I like everything about these knit pants - the length, not-too-tight fit, and of course, their versatility.
